BiVits® ACTIVA ACTIVE® Iron Booster, 60 capsules

BiVits^® ACTIVA ACTIVE^®  Iron Booster is a food for special medical purposes with highly bioavailable ferrous sulphate in a protein complex.

BiVits^® ACTIVA ACTIVE^®  Iron Booster is formulated for the dietary management of iron deficiency or increased iron requirements. The protein–iron complex is designed to utilise the intestinal DMT1 transport pathway and to offer good gastrointestinal tolerability.

BiVits^® ACTIVA ACTIVE^®  Iron Booster is intended for the dietary management of:
• Medically determined iron deficiency (including iron-deficiency anaemia), as assessed by a healthcare professional
• Increased physiological requirements for iron (e.g., pregnancy, adolescence, menstruation, endurance training)
• Situations where standard oral iron is poorly tolerated

BiVits^® ACTIVA ACTIVE^® Iron Booster is recommended for:
• Pregnant women and for women during the menstrual cycle – under medical supervision
• Individuals following vegetarian or restricted diets – as advised by a healthcare professional
• Individuals with increased physical activity – as advised
• Individuals intolerant to standard oral iron preparations – as advised
• Individuals with chronic gastrointestinal conditions (e.g., Crohn’s disease) – as advised

Ingredients:

Ferrous sulphate; capsule shell (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose); colours: calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, chlorophyllin; acidity regulators: sodium acetate, acetic acid; antioxidant: ascorbic acid; emulsifier: polysorbate.

Directions for use:

Adults and children aged 13+ to take 1 capsule once daily with a glass of water or juice. May be taken on an empty stomach. Use continuously for 3–6 months. After 3 months, monitoring of iron status is recommended.

Advisory Information:

Not suitable as the sole source of nutrition. Keep out of reach of children.

Warnings:

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Not intended for persons under 13 years. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use only on the advice of their doctor. Use under medical supervision. Not for parenteral use.

Food Interactions:

Oral iron absorption may be reduced when taken with tea, coffee, milk, eggs, whole-grain cereals and dietary fibre; take Active Iron 1 hour before or 2 hours after these foods. Avoid concomitant use with tetracyclines or with antacids.

Drug interactions:

If you are taking any of the following medicines, consult your doctor or pharmacist before use, as oral iron may alter absorption: certain antibiotics; products containing calcium, zinc or phosphate; levothyroxine; methyldopa; levodopa; penicillamine. Oral iron may darken stools.
